Wow but this year has gone quickly!
We have met incredible people, learnt a lifetime of experiences from what it takes to run a business and how to work with different people and different personalities. We have been climbing a mountain and I think we can now say that we have almost reached the top.
This year has been a challenge and on behalf of my colleagues, group, business partners or more appropriately teammates I think we can agree that we have accomplished and learnt more than we thought we would have before we entered PDE. Producing a product that has never been produced before in South Africa is something that we can definitely be proud of. Looking back to the beginning of the year I would probably say that idea generation and deciding on a product was one of our most challenging tasks that we had as a group. All the different group members’ perspectives, opinions and tastes came into play and this made it very difficult to satisfy everyone’s wants and needs especially when everyone has the same stake in ownership. We learnt a lot about manufacturing within South Africa and are very proud to say that we contributed to our South African economy.
Looking forward and the future of Rain Dear:
The Rain Dear brand may have a life beyond Genesis. As we finanlise the close of business we need to identify if there is any interest in anyone taking ownership of the brand next year. The member of our team who has evidently made the most sales this year, Mthuthu Msibi has an interest in taking the brand forward next year and is in the process of deciding how she will go about doing this. Knowing that Rain Dear will live beyond 2015 makes all the members if Genesis Group E proud to be apart of the brand.
