CRUNCH TIME

Crunch time! A fitting way to describe the present situation of life that encompasses each of us individually and as a group. With a measly 3 weeks until exam start and still a small Everest of assignments, tests and product work to summit, this course is living up to its standard. I am sure that our group members will take some solace in the skills honed during the Mindfulness elective as well as put pen to paper for those of us which delve into the Creative Writing elective.
In the words of David Priilaid – This too shall pass…
Dot, dot, dot indeed, for there will be more work and more stress. This is what it takes to be an entrepreneur and hell’s bells is it worth it!
With this in mind I wanted to contrast on a modern day philosopher called Alan Watts.

Gavin reintroduced me to Alan Watts by the means of a Youtube video which speaks with such power. The basic philosophy portrayed by Alan Watts in the Youtube video is as simple as this;
If you were able to go to sleep at night and dream any dream you desired that lasted over a 75 year period, naturally you would have a dream that would fulfil all your goals and wishes and you would enjoy every kind of pleasure in this world. After many nights of having pleasurable 75 yearlong dreams, you would be content and then you would want to surprise yourself by having a dream not under control by you directly, an adventure into the unknown. You would awake from this 75 yearlong dream and say wow, that was a close shave and you would be thrilled. Eventually you would become more and more adventurous and you would take more gambles with the unknown. You would awake from these dreams excited and enthusiastic. Finally you would create the 75 yearlong dream of the life that you are living now.
And with that thought provoking ideology I leave you to ponder.
