Genesis - The origin, the beginning, the formation or the outset

Every Tuesday brings our group together for a series of intense meetings where we share the opportunity to be the start of something that will shape the future. With our product prototype due date looming the pressure is rising to make the decision that will determine our success as a business and determine whether or not we win the much coveted group award this year.

Decisions, decisions, decisions – there are few things more valuable than making good decisions in life and in business. I am learning that as a manager, the dreaded decision making responsibility is on me, and frankly that excites me. We put into practice today the tool for making decisions as a group that we learnt about last week in our Genesis lecture. The steps go as follows Diverge, Converge and Vote…It was quite a fulfilling experience to go through as a group, I will not at this point reveal how successful we were in choosing a product however I can say that we are learning to put our heads together…it’s a good beginning…it’s our Genesis.

So the question I pose to you today is what season are you going through in your life right now? Do you need a “new beginning”? There is a saying, ‘Be the change you want to see in the world’ I say be the Genesis…create and don’t be shy about it.
