SPONSORSHIP DIFFICULTIES

Phew. And so the struggle continues. Only 6 days left until cake sale day and we still have not organised one proper sponsor for the main food ingredients. Times are getting so stressful that we even put a page up on a donate for a cause website in order to find persuade people to sponsor us some money.

We have decided to do boerewors rolls for several factors. The two most important being that we have not secured a proper sponsor and asking organisations for several ingredients is putting us at a high risk. The other is that we are aware of two other competing groups that have chosen to do hamburgers as their main selling point, so we want to do something different and simple.

We have been very appreciative of what we have been sponsored for now. I do not want to disclose who our sponsors are just yet (incase other groups are reading this). We have also been very dissapointed in one or two brands pulling out on us today. We made a firm agreement with Hey Brew to sponsor us portable coffee machines with product. Today they informed us that they are now pulling out of our agreement and facilitating another group. We found this very unethical and just plain rude. They could have easily distributed their machines and products evenly among the entrepreneurship student groups that confronted them. Now we have nothing good to say about the brand and what they stand for.

We are also in the process of creating an event on Facebook for next week Tuesday. We have decided to call our stand "Hunger Games - The MockingWors". We know there is a great hype around Jennifer Lawrence in Hunger Games, so we thought it would be quite satirical and humourous to play on the theme with our cake sale.

Other than that, the group members are all pulling their weight. Everyone seems to be responsible for their own particular sections and things are all coming together.
